What is different about the men's shampoo & conditioner versus Aveda's existing shampoos & conditioners?
Men's scalps are thicker than women's and on average can produce twice the level of oil. This can make men more prone to sensitivity, dryness, redness, irritation and other uncomfortable scalp conditions. The Aveda Men products were specifically developed to combat these unique challenges.

Why do I need to use a styling product?
Styling products are often misunderstood or overlooked by men but they are essential in achieving the desired look and feel to men's hair and scalp. From adding hold, creating texture or definition, eliminating volume or increasing thickness, the Aveda Men products are designed to fit your specific needs. View our Men's Styling Product Guide Chart to see which product is right for you.

I have coarse hair, are there any products to soften it?
The common challenge with coarse hair is lack of moisture, so the hair needs extra moisture in order to feel softer. The Aveda Men Pure-Formance™ Pomade and Liquid Pomade are ideal products to use on coarse hair because they moisturize the hair, add healthy shine and leave hair defined.

I want to use a styling product, but I don't want to weigh my hair down. Does Aveda have something I can use?
The Aveda Men Pure-Formance™ Grooming Cream was formulated with finer hair types in mind. It's a light-weight formula that adds shine, texture, and definition without weighing the hair down.

I have wavy hair – what is the best product to help it look healthy and in control?
Try using the Aveda Men Pure-Formance™ Liquid Pomade–specifically designed for wavy or curly hair. The Liquid Pomade is a light styling product that leaves hair feeling moisturized, full of healthy shine and definition without looking greasy or weighing the hair down.

I have dry hair. Should I wash it every day?
Dry hair typically means a dry scalp, so it is important to use a daily shampoo and conditioner that not only conditions and treats the hair but also the scalp. Some shampoos are gentle enough to use everyday–even on dry hair. In fact, daily use of Aveda Men Pure-Formance™ Shampoo and Conditioner is clinically-proven to leave the scalp calmer, healthier, less irritated, less dry and itchy.

My hair is short—do I really need to use conditioner?
Even though your hair is short, it is important to use a conditioner to moisturize and condition the scalp. A healthy scalp means healthy hair–whatever the length may be.

How much of my styling products should I use?
The amount of styling product you use depends on the amount of hair you have, your hair type and your desired result. It is recommended that you try out the product and use the amount that works best for your hair–start out with a small amount and add as desired.
